SALT LAKE CITY (September 25, 2008) — Today, AllenComm won silver for creating Toyota’s e-learning course. The Chief Learning Officer (CLO) magazine, from MediaTec Publishing Inc., presented AllenComm with the provider Learning In Practice Award for e-Learning at the CLO Symposium in Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, CA. Kevin Wilde, vice president and CLO of General Mills Inc. and Chief Learning Officer magazine’s 2007 CLO of the Year, delivered the keynote address at the ceremony.
The Provider Awards, started last year by CLO, “are designed to distinguish service providers that worked closely with clients to design and implement innovative and effective learning solutions” (clomedia.com). The Excellence in E-Learning Award recognizes providers that have designed an innovative and effective new e-learning program for a client in the past year.
AllenComm’s interactive elearning course was for Toyota. Recently, Toyota decided to take the first portion of their On-the-Job Development program online and enlisted AllenComm to design and develop an effective course that would prepare executives for the Instructor Led Training portion of the course. AllenComm accomplished this through multi-branch simulations and realistic scenarios and videos to engage and inspire learners. Users felt connected to the course and took away the knowledge they needed to excel in the next portion of the training course.
“We’re pleased to receive the recognition from CLO,” states Brent Verhaaren, Marketing Director from Allen Communication Learning Services. “The Toyota project allowed us to really showcase our strengths in training assessments, custom simulation development and custom learning portal development. We can’t say enough about how great it has been to work with Toyota in developing such a robust learning program. Their insight and recognition that this OJD training was mission critical allowed us to design a course that will make a long-lasting impact on management and employee performance.”
