Pacific Gas and Electric Company Wins Three Awards for Gas Safety 101 Video Series

PG&E AwardPartnership with CMCG and Allen Communication Increases Public Safety through Awareness

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (August 30, 2013) – Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has been recognized with three awards for their Gas Safety 101 video series. This informative video set has earned a Summit Creative Award, a Horizon Award and a Communicator Award of Distinction. The awards honor the best in interactive media worldwide.

PG&E partnered with Contingency Management Consulting Group (CMCG) and Allen Communication to develop the educational videos as part of their Public Awareness Plan. The partnership utilized AllenComm’s unique combination of analysis, video production, and motion design to create a product which effectively coaches the public on crucial gas safety.

“Our journey to become the safest natural gas company in the industry begins with educating our internal and external partners about pipeline safety.  Our team has made tremendous strides with developing tools for our customers, contractors and external first responder population,” said Joel Dickson Director of Gas Emergency Preparedness at PG&E.  “The tremendous effort by this team and their unwavering commitment executing solid emergency management principles are confirmed by receiving the recognition through these very important awards.”

Enhanced training and continuing education are at the core of PG&E’s goal of becoming the safest gas utility company in the nation. The award-winning video series works to accomplish PG&E’s objective of educating their consumers and protecting the public.

The Horizon Interactive Awards, a leading international interactive media awards competition, showcases the industry’s “best of the best” in interactive media solutions including web sites, mobile applications, print media, online advertising, video and more.

The Summit Creative Awards drew more than 5,000 submissions representing 25 countries. Winners were selected in categories including: advertising, website marketing, emerging media, collateral, direct mail, public service and social marketing.

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), an organization of leading professionals of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. The Communicator Awards honors creative excellence among communications professionals worldwide.
